One such Madam, seeking solace from her routine in the Sand Bar, could have been Etta Place, and this room is named after her. Etta was a secretive and mysterious woman, but she had many famous "outlaw" friends. Rumor has it, that while she stayed here, she was visited by others such as her good friend, the Sundance Kid, and his partner in crime Butch Cassidy, who were leaders of The Wild Bunch, and who were held up at the Hole in the Wall near Kaycee, Wyoming. Other friends and acquaintances who could have visited this boarding house in the 1890s would be Olive Oatman, Dora DuFran, Wyatt Earp and his family, and Doc Holliday and Big Nose Kate, to mention a few.‚Äč
